Phlebotomy Technician
This Program is approved by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Through this program you will receive the necessary didactic training hours, plus practical knowledge with treating patients. This course will teach the complexities of specimen collections and be familiar with the required procedure for you to perform venipuncture to the patients under the supervision of the Doctor (MD) or Nurse (RN or LPN) at a Doctor’s Office, Medical Clinic, Hospital or any health care facility.
The program prepares students to obtain a certification from CDPH/LFS – California Department of Public Health / Laboratory Field Services

Basic Program - LPT
Limited Phlebotomy Technician
28 hour / 2 week course

Limited Phlebotomy Technician License (LPT) authorizes you to do skin punctures and blood collection only.
This 28 hour, 2 week didactic program is approved by CDPH/LFS. Through this program you will receive the necessary 28 hours didactic and practical training that will instruct you on the complexities, procedures and responsibility required of blood collection through skin punctures. You will be trained to collect a blood sample through small needled lancets and micro capillary tubes.

Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1
100 hour / 4 week course

Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) Certificate authorizes to practice skin puncture, venipuncture and blood collection.
The Course is for individuals who have no prior experience or education of Phlebotomy. It includes the basic and advanced courses.
This 100 hour, 4 week didactic program is approved by CDPH/LFS. Through this program you will receive the necessary 60 didactic training hours that will instruct you on the complexities, procedures and responsibility required of blood collection, specimen collections, the procedure to perform a venipuncture and skin punctures. The program also provides the 40 hours of practical training experience while practicing with patients in a medical setting under the supervision of a clinical licensed training supervisor at a medical clinic.

Certified Phlebotomy Advance
32 hour Course

ADVANCED Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) Certificate authorizes you to practice skin puncture, venipuncture and blood collection.
The Course is for individuals with experience and education of Phlebotomy. This program is an advanced course for individuals that have “on-the-job experience” and have a “Letter of Phlebotomy Experience for California Phlebotomist Certification” verifying between 40 and 1040 hours of paid phlebotomy work experience within the previous five years.
This 32 hour didactic training program is approved by CDPH/LFS. Through this program you will receive the necessary 32 didactic training hours that will instruct you on the complexities, procedures and responsibility required of blood collection, specimen collections, and procedure to perform a venipuncture and skin punctures.
