Essence flower therapy/ Bach Therapy

Essence therapy, or flower remedy, is based on the premise that ailments are either caused by or complicated by emotional or mental imbalances, and that correcting these imbalances can promote health. In the early 1930s, English Doctor Edward Bach investigated the possibilities of emotional healing and its affects on physical illness, and found that distilled essences of various flowering plants could make a big difference for a number of problems by stabilizing the emotional states that
cause them, thereby facilitating treatment of the physical symptoms. It is believed to work by affecting neurotransmitters in the brain which are associated with emotions such as fear, anger or anxiety. The distilled essences of the flowers, suspended in alcohol, are diluted with water and sipped regularly for up to twelve weeks. Pregnant women should consult a physician before using flower therapy due to the alcohol in which the essence is suspended.

Reiki

Reiki is a relatively new Japanese form of therapy, similar to other energy medicines such as acupuncture and healing touch, but different from them in that it incorporates a spiritual element, holding that the healing is actually performed by a power outside either the patient or the healer.

It was created in the late 1800s and early 1900s by Dr. Mikao Usui, who studied ancient healing practices of Tibetan monks and then believed that he was given the power to heal with Reiki during a session of meditation.

Ki is the Japanese equivalent of the Chinese Qi (chee), the life energy that flows through all living things and is essential to health and vitality, and Rei is the conscious higher power that is the source of Ki. Imbalances in the flow of Ki, often caused by negative thoughts or emotions, are considered the cause of many health problems.

A Reiki practitioner does not manipulate the Ki of the patient directly, but rather acts as a channel through which Ki flows from and is controlled by the higher power, to balance or clear any blockages in the flow of energy. Reiki has been used to treat a very wide variety of conditions, from stress and pain to cancer.

Brain Gym

Brain Gym is a series of physical exercises designed to stimulate and assist brain function. Developed by Dr. Paul Dennison in 1969, Brain Gym arose from a combination of the science of Kinesiology, the study of the association between body movement and the brain, with educational and child psychology.
Specific coordinated movements of the body are believed to be particularly beneficial to development of neural pathways in the brains of children.
Brain Gym is a program of exercises which puts these movements together in a way that will help stimulate and develop these pathways in older children and adults as well. It has both physical and mental benefits, and has been shown to be helpful for treatment of learning disorders, improvement of memory and concentration, physical coordination and specially for the new variety of dysfunction produe by the extensively use of computer.

Qi gong

Qi Gong is probably the oldest Traditional Chinese Energy therapy, dating from as early as 1700 B.C. Based on the theory of Qi (chee) or life energy, which flows through the body along channels known as meridians, the technique combines particular breathing patterns with a technique of energy manipulation by a Qi Gong healer, similar to acupressure or healing touch, to attempt to balance the flow of Qi, clear any blockages in its flow, or to make up deficits of Qi by a direct transfer of energy from the healer to the patient. Since the proper flow of energy is believed to be essential to health, any problems with it are said to be causes of

or factors in practically any health problem; therefore Qi Gong is considered beneficial not only to overall vitality but also potentially an aid to fighting diseases from colds to cancer.

Studies of energy medicines of various kinds have not generally yielded firm evidence of their effectiveness, and scientific medicine remains skeptical about all of its forms; but some studies of healers from various disciplines have shown that their hands emit much stronger electrical impulses than a typical person’s.

Chinese Bodywork Therapy

Science of Eating, Exercise –Qi Gong and TaiJi and Massage) for rebalance the body. With this context Tuina will use as a foundation theory of the flow of Qi through the meridians as its basic therapeutic orientation.

Music therapy

The powerful effects of music on the mind are familiar to everyone. The feeling of happiness, relaxation and well being that overcomes you when you hear a favorite song, the emotional impact of the right music at the right moment in the movie, or the smile that you can’t stop when you hear children sing are common to all, and so are the health benefits that result.

Music in some form or other has been a part of every culture for all of
history, and its therapeutic effects have always been recognized, but its study and use as a structured form of therapy is relatively new. A large number of studies in hospitals and universities over the last few decades have quantified the sometimes startling impact music can have on a great variety of problems and conditions.

When played in hospitals, music has been shown to have a large impact on depression, anxiety and other negative emotions common to the experience of hospitalization, in patients as well as doctors and nurses. Blood pressure is significantly reduced, requirements for pain medication and even anesthetics during surgery are substantially cut, and the positive emotional effects have well-documented physical and physiological benefits for patients suffering almost any condition. Music also has well-documented benefits for intellectual performance, both developmentally and later in life.
Of course, the right music, for the right patient, for the right condition must always be considered. In general, music is divided into stimulating and relaxing types, each of which is appropriate to different situations.

Yoga

Yoga a general term for a range of body/mind exercise practices used to access consciousness and encourage physical and mental well-being. Some forms concentrate on achieving perfection in posture and alignment of the body; others aim at mental control to access higher consciousness. Between these two are forms of yoga that focus on the interrelationship of body, mind, and energy.

The word yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated. We can think of the union occurring between mind, body and spirit.

What is commonly referred to as "yoga" can be more accurately described by the Sanskrit word asana, which refers to the practice of physical postures or poses.

Asana is only one of the eight so-called "limbs" or types of yoga, the majority of which are more concerned with mental and spiritual well being than physical activity. Today, however, the words asana and yoga have become almost synonymous.

Yoga Poses

Many people think that yoga is stretching. But while stretching is certainly involved, yoga is really about creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of poses, each of which has specific physical benefits. The poses can be done quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement or more slowly to increase stamina and perfect the alignment of the pose. There is an ideal way that each pose should be done, although not all yogis will agree about what that is.
The first or primary series, called Yoga Chikitsa, is described in Yoga Mala. Yoga Chikitsa, which means yoga therapy, realigns the spine, detoxifies the body, and builds strength, flexibility and stamina.

The practice of yoga has strong therapeutic value. But the path of yoga, which must be followed in order to reap these benefits, can sometimes be a challenging one at first, for it is something which simply cannot be handed over to a patient, ready-made.

All chances of healing will end there if the student does not do the prescribed practice. Yoga, and yoga therapy is all about doing. Without consistent practice, there can be no yoga therapy. Attending a yoga class once a week will not lead to the transformation of the body, the mind or the spirit. It is the individual practice, the doing of yoga on a daily basis which will provide the basis for yoga therapy.

Relaxation and Visualization are two separate stress relieving techniques often used together to reduce muscle tension and overcome mental and emotional problems. Relaxation balances the sympathetic and parasympathetic (autonomic) nervous system. Therapists use and teach techniques which de-stress muscles and induce a calm mind and body. Visualization is the conscious use of your imagination to create positive images used to heal. Visualization encourages right-brain activity and uses images to assist with healing from the injurious effects of previous experience, and prepare the subject for potential stressful future experience.

Relaxation therapy

Relaxation therapy is a general term that encompasses many of the specific methods listed here, including music therapy, meditation and yoga, but it also denotes a particular idea, of which these are examples: what’s commonly called “time out.”.
People generally feel that they live cluttered, hectic, overwhelming lives; between work, family and friends, or any of the dozens of things that fill our days and tax our body and mind, rarely do we take even a small part of our waking life entirely for ourselves, apart from unhealthy “escapist” kinds of relaxation like TV that don’t allow the mind to settle

down. This almost permanent state ofstimulation and stress inevitably has dire consequences for both mental and physical health, from higher heart rate and blood pressure to a compromised immune system, leaving us vulnerable to any number of conditions.

Making a priority of taking at least half an hour a day, every day, to simply withdraw from the whole mess, can be a big step toward improving health. And it can take any number of forms, be it a slow, quiet stroll in a park, a short nap, or a few minutes entirely engrossed in enjoying a bowl of ice cream.

In addition, you may be asked to perform some activities at home to assist the process of recovery.
